The Captain Supt. of Police produced the daily account slips & showed Fazul Shah the entries on the dates from the 5th of the 5th moon to 19th of fifth moon (4 to 18 June) inclusive "566 $1".
Un Kin states:- I was employed from the 13th of the 11th moon of last year up to the 19th of the 5th moon of this year as a watchman at a gambling house kept at Cheung Hing Street at Nos. 1 & 3 in that street.
It was part of my duty to pay bribes to certain Indian Police. I paid three Indian Sergeants altogether. I recognise the Policeman present. He is Indian Police Sergeant No. 566. He wears three stripes & a crown.
I have paid bribes to him. I began to pay him between the 20th & 30th of the third moon of this year. He came & beat the watchmen and drove away the gamblers four or five times. Then Lo Chau an ex Lukong & he came to me & Lo Chau said that this Indian Sergeant wanted money.
I asked Lo Chau how much the Indian wanted. Lo Chau said a dollar a day. I asked my master Lan Chi. My master ...
